Proud Sponsors of the North Olympic Discovery Marathon
The Therapeutic Associates North Olympic Discovery Marathon (NODM) and half marathon
are run on a unique point-to-point course that incorporates the Olympic Discovery
Trail - with stunning views of the Olympic Mountains and a five mile finishing
stretch along the shores of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The race is a USATF
sanctioned event that is a Boston Marathon qualifier. The rails to trails course
is a wide, mixed, hard surface trail. Cool June weather next to the ocean can
be expected.
We are proud to support the Port Angeles and Sequim communities
by sponsoring the North Olympic Discovery Marathon.

has a long and rich history of supporting our communities. If one word could
describe our culture it would be “family”, which
encompasses belonging, caring, compassion, responsibility and community. One
of the ways that we try to support our communities is through event sponsorships
that promote healthy choices and lifestyles. Sponsoring the North Olympic Discovery
Marathon is a perfect fit and we are proud to help support this wonderful event.
As
physical therapists, our knowledge and expertise is perfect to help prevent
injuries, maintain health, and work or play more comfortably. As part of
our sponsorship this year we put our knowledge to work and with the support
of Larry and Michelle Little, the NODM Race Directors, Athletes Choice in Port
Angeles and Mikes Bikes in Sequim we provided training seminars taught by
Gail Tate PT, OCS and training runs for Marathon Participants. Turnout was
great at these events and with the feedback we received this year we plan to
expand our offerings in the years to come.
In addition, we provided race coverage
at the event itself. This year you could find us offering injury screens
prior to the event at the Expo, staffing aid stations along the course itself
and providing post event medical coverage at the finish line. Of course for
those unfortunate individuals who overdo it on race day we will be available
to help with their recovery process as well. Our sports therapy program supports
injured athletes with a comprehensive approach to rehabilitation that is designed
to enhance recovery and facilitate return to function in the shortest time
possible.
