What is a Gran Fondo?
“Gran Fondo” means “Big Ride” in italian.
Gran Fondos are long distance, mass-participation cycling events – not races - that have become incredibly popular in Europe. These events are generally held on epic courses in destination locations, with participation open to recreational and competitive amateur cyclists.
Event Details:
Date: September 26th, 2010
Location: Columbia River Gorge (start & finish in Hood River, OR)
Distances: 30 mile, 60 mile, 100 mile courses
Course: Visit here for course details and descriptions
Who: Any and all level of cyclist
Festival: There will be a Gran Fondo style festival that will take place on Sept 26th from 11:30AM – 6PM in Hood River. This is open to the public and will include plenty of entertainment, food, and beverages.
How it works:
To register with our team for any distance (30, 60, 100 miles) you simply pay a $25 registration fee. By registering, you are committing to either fundraise an additional $125 or to make the donation yourself (i.e. $150 total cost). Visit our team page to register with us!
You will have until September 24th, 2010 to meet the additional $125 minimum, mandatory commitment.
