Cycling Injury Prevention Clinic – September 1, 2011
What to do off the bike to stay on the bike
Whether you ride a road, mountain, commuter or cruiser bike, cyclists are susceptible to a wide variety of injuries. These injuries can be related to many factors including muscle weakness, muscle tightness, improper fitting to your bike, poor pedaling mechanics or improper training. Many of these injuries can be avoided by adding several simple exercises and stretches to your weekly routine.
To help get you started, Southeast Portland Physical Therapy is offering an educational clinic to the public on cycling injury prevention. During our 1 hour clinic, participants will be actively instructed on the following:
- Warm up & cool down stretching
- Strengthening exercises
- Foam roller activities
Each participant will leave the 1 hour clinic with detailed handouts of all exercises and stretches demonstrated, as well as one 18” foam roller and theraband to utilize at home.
So whether you are a competitive racer or just enjoy cruising on the weekends, we encourage you to attend so that you may remain injury free while riding out on the road.
