First Time Marathon Runner Wins 2010 Eugene Marathon

Performance Running would like to send out a special congratulations to Craig Leon, the 2010 Eugene Marathon winner!

In his first ever marathon, Leon captured the title at the 2010 Eugene Marathon. Having only competitively ran 2 half-marathons prior to this race, he finished in a time of 2 hours, 23 minutes, and 15 seconds.

“I never thought coming in that I would win the race,” Leon said. “I was trying to run my own race.”

Craig Leon is a 25-year old from Athens, Ohio, where he ran both cross country and track for Ohio University. While at Ohio University, Craig ran beside one of the directors of Performance Running, Robert Wayner, who competed in this year’s half marathon (finishing in a time of 1 hour, 15 minutes, and 4 seconds).
