Derek Steigemeier DPT

Director: Nampa Physical Therapy

Derek received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Montana in Missoula and his B.S. in Exercise Science from Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana. He is certified in Augmented Soft Tissue Mobilization (The ASTYM™ System). Derek will be working towards becoming a board certified orthopedic specialist (OCS) and will be gaining multiple levels of certification through the North American Institute of Manual Therapy (NAIOMT).

Derek’s clinical emphasis is on orthopedics, with a focus on biomechanical analysis of the upper and lower extremities. In addition to orthopedics, Derek also focuses on Men’s Health, with experience in both pelvic and low back pain treatment.

To complement his physical therapy experience, Derek has a background in athletic enhancement, with emphasis on proper running and cycling technique. Derek also integrates different video and computer analysis to help further improve the athlete’s performance.

Derek grew up in Boise, Idaho. He was a competitive alpine ski racer for the Bogus Basin Ski Racing Alliance and later for the Regional champions Rocky Mountain College alpine ski team. When not at work you can find him out with his wife Bridgett kayaking on the Payette, mountain biking, and either Telemark or Alpine skiing at the local ski hill.
