Kara Weigel DPT
Staff Therapist: Performance Running

Kara received her master’s degree in physical therapy from the U.S. Army Baylor Physical Therapy program, located in San Antonio, Texas, in 2004. She continued her education through Baylor and completed her transitional doctorate in 2007. As a captain in the Army, Kara was deployed to Iraq where she worked as a PT treating U.S., coalition, and Iraqi forces and civilians. Kara has been specializing in orthopedic physical therapy since graduation and was excited to be part of the Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Clinic when it opened in May 2008.
Kara was involved in the development of Performance Running, located at Gateway Physical Therapy. She has experience working in sports rehabilitation, with a special interest in running biomechanical evaluations and manual therapy. Kara ran collegiate cross country and track, and since then has completed 4 marathons with a personal best of 3:09:52. In her free time Kara also enjoys triathlons, skiing, mountain biking, and spending time with her husband Matt and son Jovan.
