Matt is originally from South Dakota, where he attended and completed his professional education. He graduated from Augustana College with a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. Shortly after graduation, he completed his Athletic Training Certification. In 2003 he graduated from the University of South Dakota with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. He chose to continue his education and complete a Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) and graduated in 2007 from Sage Graduate School. Matt became a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2011.

Outside of work, Matt enjoys time with his growing family, and when possible participates in many outdoor activities, including ultimate frisbee, mountain biking and triathlons. Because of his personal interests combined with his athletic training background he has special interest in preventing and treating injuries related to outdoor and endurance sports. Matt was involved in the development of Performance Running, located at Gateway Physical Therapy, and has presented to long-distance runners and triathletes.
