Emily earned a BA in Zoology from the University of California, Berkeley and a Masters in Environmental Studies from the University of Oregon. She worked in mapping software for 5 years before attending Azusa Pacific University, where she graduated at the top of her class with a Masters of Physical Therapy in 2000.

She was certified as Certified Orthopaedic Manual Therapist through the North American Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT) in 2007. She is active in helping the profession as a lab assistant for NAIOMT courses. She specializes in orthopedic manual therapy and has worked for Therapeutic Associates since 2000.

Emily has been married since 2001. She enjoys time with her family and friends, especially if it is hosting dinner parties or participating in outdoor activities, such as walking her standard poodle, skiing, hiking, wakeboarding, and wakesurfing.
