Lisa Finster LMT

Licensed Massage Therapist: Bethany Physical Therapy

Lisa Finster LMTLisa Finster, LMT, became a massage therapist because she believes that with regular massage the body has an incredible ability to heal and repair itself. Her background in dance, theater, corporate customer service, and her work with physical therapists has shown her an extensive variety of circumstances where her style of massage is of great value. She uses several different modalities to custom design what your body needs each time you visit. She listens to what your concerns are and uses her experience in energy work to “listen” to your body. She is a graduate of East West College of Healing Arts, 801 hour program, with a focus in Swedish massage, Myofascial massage, Craniosacral massage and Zen Shiatsu. She is a native Oregonian who loves to spend time at the beach and in the mountains. She is licensed by the State Of Oregon and is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association.

Massage Modalities

Swedish
This is what most people think of when they hear the word “massage”. A combination of long flowing strokes, kneading, friction and tapotement are mixed to match the needs for each client. Excellent for decreasing muscle tension and stress, increasing circulation and creating an overall sense of relaxation and well-being.

Myofascial Release
Designed to stretch and release the fascia which wraps around all muscles and organs throughout the body. Generally a gentle form of bodywork, although if there are deep-held compensation patterns or scar tissue it can be painful. This is a profoundly effective therapeutic technique for restoring balance.

Cranio-Sacral
An extremely subtle form of deep tissue release designed to increase the flow of cerebrospinal fluid from the brain to the sacrum. This is accomplished by gentle lifting and stretching of cranial and facial bones, as well as stretching of cranial and facial bones, as well as stretching/ balancing of the sacrum. Very beneficial for chronic headaches, eye pain, TMJ, hearing problems, balance problems and an increased awareness of your body. Wear loose fitting clothing as you stay fully clothed. No jeans please.

Zen Shiatsu
A form of healing that has been around for over 5,000 years, it is a combination of compressions and stretches designed to remove energy blockages throughout the energy meridians of the body. Deeply therapeutic, invigorating bodywork that increases flexibility, range of motion, circulation and body awareness while decreasing chronic pain and stress. Wear loose clothing with stretchy waistband as you stay fully clothed. No jeans please.
