Physical Therapist: Downtown Portland Physical Therapy

Jessica received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Puget Sound in 2007. In 2009 she became a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS). She has spent several years training with the North American Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT); she became a Certified Manual Physical Therapist in 2011, and will begin Fellowship training in 2012. She is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and is certified in the ASTYM system for the treatment of Repetitive Stress/Chronic Overuse Injuries.

Jessica’s treatment approach involves a combination of hands-on Manual Therapy techniques with comprehensive sport/activity-specific exercise programs. Her areas of interest include Sports Medicine, Repetitive Stress Injuries, Pelvic and Sacroiliac (SI) Joint Dysfunction, and Post-Surgical Rehabilitation. She has experience working with many endurance athletes, including runners, cyclists, triathletes, and cross country skiers, and has recently started working with elite level Ultimate Frisbee teams.

Jessica received her bachelors in psychology from Dartmouth College in 2003. While at Dartmouth, she was a member of the cross-country ski team. For the past eight years she has been involved in coaching competitive youth ski programs in Oregon and Idaho.

In addition to skiing, Jessica enjoys an active lifestyle, including running, hiking, and cycling. She looks forward to further involvement with the Portland community while developing programs to incorporate preventative medicine, wellness, and conditioning, in addition to rehabilitative services.
