High School Outreach

At TAI LO PT our desire is to bring an elite model of care to local high school athletes.  Our outreach program was designed to correct some of the shortfalls of the traditional sports medicine model utilized by most high schools.  Our sports medicine team consists of physical therapist, athletic trainers, sports performance specialists, and medical doctors all dedicated to a new and superior model of care for high school athletes.  We have three guiding principles that have shaped our programs.  Comprehensive care, communication, and education are essential for any sports medicine team to be successful.  We have the tools and resources to put these principles into practice. 

To us, comprehensive care means looking at each individual athlete as a whole and helping them to make changes that will improve their health, performance, and outcomes on the field of play.  Not only do we treat injuries as they arise but we take a proactive approach to injury prevention and identify movement dysfunctions and possible problems before they become worse.  One of the many ways we can do this is through the use of our Athletic Movement Screen (AMS).  We also provide IMPACT concussion management technology to our athletes in order to help them protect their most valuable asset; their brain.

Communication is often a source of confusion and error in the traditional sports medicine model.  Having the entire sports medicine team in the same clinic makes communication between physical therapist, doctor, athletic trainer, and performance specialist extremely smooth.  When we all work together on a patient there is far less communication breakdown.  While communication between the members of the sports medicine team is important the line between the team and the coach, parent, and athlete is even more-so.  Having an athletic trainer available for your school will give you access to a sports medicine expert with the ability to communicate with parents and athletes/coaches every step of the way.

Communication goes hand in hand with education.  We desire to help the high school athletic communities around the area gain a practical understanding of sports medicine.  This is done through in-services, seminars for coaches, presentations for parents, and many other ways designed to give you the correct knowledge to maximize health and performance.  We are available to answer any questions that you may have through our contact page.
