Charles obtained his undergraduate degree from Pepperdine University in sports medicine and his master’s degree in biomechanics from Oregon State University, where he is also currently pursuing his doctoral degree in sports medicine. He became certified through the NATA as an athletic trainer in 1992, and through the NSCA as a certified strength and conditioning specialist in 2005. Charles has worked in many different settings, including experience with the United States luge association, Austrailian national baseball team, and multiple NCAA National championship events, including as an athletic trainer for the 1992 NCAA baseball national championship team at Pepperdine University. He has been an athletic trainer in professional baseball for 12 years and currently works in the Cincinnati Reds system.
