Staff Therapist: Valley Physical Therapy - North

Helen Akerberg-Evans, PT has been working at Valley Physical Therapy North in Salem since 1998. Helen received her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Bohuslan’s Vardhogs-skola in Goteborg, Sweden in 1988. Prior to this education she finished a two year Nursing degree.

Helen relocated to Portland in 1989 and worked at Oregon Health Sciences University. She has since worked in orthopedics, neurosurgery, and outpatient sports medicine.

Her continuing education includes studies in orthopedics, incontinence, Fibromyalgia, sports medicine, spinal mobilization, medical exercise therapy, and strain counterstrain. Helen started her continuing education in TMD in 1999, training under Kelly Reed from Cedar Hills Physical Therapy. After numerous courses about the temporomandibular system, dysfunctions, and post-op treatment, Helen is currently the TMD specialist at Valley Physical Therapy North in Salem.
