Shoulder Stabilization & Core Strengthening for Baseball Players
| Shoulder Stabilization & Core Strengthening for Baseball Players |
Due to the repetitive nature of throwing, baseball players are at the greatest risk for sustaining a throwing injury to the arm. In a recent study of collegiate males in the United States, fifteen percent of the players who had pitched in youth baseball reported pain, tenderness, or limited motion, which compromised their ability to throw (1). In another study with 300 youth baseball pitchers in the Birmingham, Alabama area, almost half of these youth baseball pitchers, ages 8-12, reported elbow or shoulder pain at least once during the study (2).
What are you doing to prevent shoulder and elbow injuries?
Our Shoulder Stabilization & Core Strengthening for Baseball Players Program can help prevent shoulder and elbow overuse injuries. Scapular stabilization & core strengthening is vitally important for prevention of shoulder and elbow injuries. Rotator Cuff strengthening with resistive bands is simply not enough!
Strengthening the core musculature and scapular stabilizer muscles can not only help prevent injury but also enhance performance.
