Nampa, ID – Therapeutic Associates, Director Derek Stiegemeier, PT, DPT has received his Board CertifiedOrthopaedic Clinical Specialist Certification, as well is now a Certified Manual Physical Therapist. To become a “Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist” it is mandated that individuals must complete 2,000 hours of direct patient care in the specialty area of orthopaedics. Specialist must also pass a rigorous examination that tests the application of advanced knowledge and clinical skills through a written board exam on orthopaedic physical therapy by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). Therapeutic Associates Nampa PT is excited to announce that it is offering running & walking gait analysis screens. The biomechanical evaluation is an assessment designed specifically to give the runner an insight into muscle, joint, or movement dysfunction that can have a negative affect on running performance and/or lead to repetitive strain-causing injury. The ultimate goal of the evaluation is to identify movement asymmetries, muscle strength and flexibility imbalances, and joint motion restrictions that the therapist will use to design an exercise program specific to each individual runner to improve mechanical efficiency.
