Question: Can a worn meniscus in a knee joint which causes the leg to be out of alignment cause the related hip joint to wear out quicker?

Depending on the direction of angulation resulting from a change in alignment at the knee, there could be several effects on the hip. In general, if there is a change in angulation at the knee it can have an effect on the positioning of the hip joint, as well as how the hip joint is used during daily activities. This could cause excess stress to certain areas of the hip joint, which could lead to break down of the joint surface. If you are experiencing hip pain or are worried about issues at the hip as the result current knee problems, please consult a physical therapist or your physician.
