This October, Therapeutic Associates Physical Therapy continued our proud tradition of giving back during PT Day of Service. In 10 regions, our teams came together for 16 impactful projects, with each one highlighting our commitment to supporting the unique needs of our communities. Every project was a testament to our shared values. From supporting local nonprofits to connecting with families in need, our teams made a lasting impact on the communities we serve — one act of service at a time.
Creating Comfort and Connection for Those in Need
Some of our teams focused their PTDOS work on efforts that bring comfort and support to individuals and families experiencing life’s challenges.
In the Tri Cities, WA, our clinics held a donation drive for My Friends Place, a program of the Safe Harbor Support Center that serves homeless teenagers aged 13 to 20. Throughout the month, the teams here worked to gather essential items by spotlighting the need and empowering community generosity.
In Oregon’s Southern Willamette Valley, volunteers worked with the Ronald McDonald House Charities where they prepared and served home-cooked meals that provided both nourishment and a sense of home to families navigating difficult times.
Our Healing Reins project in Central Oregon demanded muscle, creativity and heart as our volunteers worked to build and enhance the facility’s sensory trail, a project designed to deepen the experience for those benefiting from equine-assisted therapy on their journey to wellness.

Meanwhile, groups of teammates from around the company joined the Oregon Dog Rescue, giving dogs awaiting adoption some extra exercise and affection. These outings offered much-needed social time for these animals, helping them feel loved and supported as they await their forever homes.

Enhancing Community Spaces for All
In multiple regions, our volunteers rolled up their sleeves to improve parks and natural areas that everyone can enjoy. At Browns Point Playfield Park in Tacoma, WA, Therapeutic Associates teamed up with MetroParks Tacoma to remove invasive species and plant new trees, contributing to a thriving, accessible green space. Nearby, in Seattle, WA, our team collected litter, helping keep the beloved Green Lake Park clean and welcoming for everyone.
In Salem, OR, volunteers resurfaced trails around Minto Brown Dog Park, a family-friendly event where community members joined in with shovels, rakes, and wheelbarrows. And also in Southern Oregon, volunteers working at the Gold Hill Independent Order of the Odd Fellows Cemetery underscored our commitment to preserving spaces of remembrance, connecting Therapeutic Associates to the community in a unique, meaningful way.
Building Resilience and Community Health
Many of Therapeutic Associates’ PTDOS projects centered on promoting independence for individuals of all abilities.
Our teams constructed adaptive toy cars through the GoBabyGo program, offering mobility-challenged children the thrill of movement, a true testament to our dedication to inclusive health.
Team members from our Eugene region supported the FOOD For Lane County organization by volunteering their time at their GrassRoots Garden. It was a wonderful day helping this group and their mission to reduce hunger and create better access to food for their community.
Additionally, a food drive in collaboration with Marion Polk Food Share and a day working with Food Lifeline sorting and repackaging donations of surplus food from local grocery stores that would otherwise go to waste both once again proved incredibly meaningful in support of those in need in our communities.
Our focus on community wellness extended to organizing month-long blood drives in two of our regions, providing much-needed resources for healthcare systems, and supporting the broader health of our communities.
Reflections from our PT Day of Service Ambassadors

As we continue to champion wellness and inclusivity, we are proud to foster connections and uplift the communities we serve. Together, we can make a lasting impact, one act of service at a time.
