At Therapeutic Associates Physical Therapy, we are driven by compassion, curiosity, and a commitment to making a difference — both in our clinics and beyond.

Physical therapist Bailey Ouellette’s story is a testament to what happens when clinical expertise meets creative compassion and community commitment. Through programs like GoBabyGo, her service initiatives, and her investment in the next generation of pediatric specialists, she’s not just treating patients — she’s transforming what’s possible for children with mobility challenges and inspiring a culture of excellence and service among her peers.

Her work as clinic director at our South Hillsboro PT office reminds us that the most meaningful impact often happens when we’re willing to look beyond the traditional boundaries of our roles and ask, “What else is possible? Who else can we serve? How else can we help?”

In this featured video, Bailey shares the story behind her passion for pediatric physical therapy, her commitment to community service, and the mentorship that shapes her work and her peers.

Empowering possibility through pediatric physical therapy

For Bailey, pediatric physical therapy is more than a profession — it’s a calling. During her clinical rotation at OHSU’s Child Development and Rehabilitation Center, she discovered the joy and challenge of helping children reach their fullest potential, no matter their starting point.

“Ability looks different across the lifespan,” she explained, “and sometimes what we need to do is modify the environment so people can succeed.”

That belief — that every child deserves the chance to move, play, and grow — has guided Bailey’s career ever since. Through adaptive technology, community partnerships, and a commitment to mentorship, Bailey is redefining what pediatric physical therapy can accomplish — not just in helping children reach milestones, but in fundamentally expanding what’s possible for children with mobility challenges and their families.

Building opportunity, one ride-on car at a time

Bailey’s passion for pediatric care extends far beyond the clinic walls. In 2019, she helped launch her Therapeutic Associates clinic’s collaboration with GoBabyGo, a national program that modifies battery-powered ride-on cars to give children with mobility challenges a new way to explore their world.

What started as a small toy-building event for PT Day of Service quickly grew into a companywide initiative, with teams across Therapeutic Associates’ regions coming together to participate in the annual build. For Bailey, the experience is deeply meaningful — especially when she sees the joy on a child’s face as they move independently for the first time.

“It’s rewarding and exciting to see a kid experience mobility the way their peers do,” she said. “It gives meaning to why we do what we do.”

Mentorship that moves us forward

Beyond her clinical and community impact, Bailey is equally passionate about mentorship. She believes that supporting and inspiring others — whether new PT grads or experienced clinicians — is essential to the future of the profession.

“Mentorship is about support,” she explained. “Not about giving the right answer, but about collaborating to find the best path forward for the person in front of you.”

Her approach reflects Therapeutic Associates’ broader culture of growth and connection — one where teammates lift each other up, share knowledge, and build lasting legacies through both patient care and professional development.

“We, as part of our legacy, need to make sure that we’re taking care of not just the patients we see but the professionals around us, and mentorship is what allows us to do that.”

This investment in other therapists creates a multiplier effect. Each clinician Bailey mentors goes on to serve hundreds of children throughout their career, extending her impact far beyond her own patient caseload.

Celebrating the power of purpose

Bailey’s story reminds us that the most transformative physical therapy happens at the intersection of clinical expertise, creative problem-solving, and genuine compassion. Whether she’s helping a child take their first independent steps, watching a young patient experience the thrill of self-directed movement in a modified car, or mentoring a colleague through a challenging case, Bailey embodies a philosophy that prioritizes possibility over limitation.

Her work shows what it means to live out Therapeutic Associates’ core values each day.
