Julianne Courtenay, PT, DPT

Clinic Director | Physical Therapist

Julianne has been the managing director of PT and OT at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center since 2010. Prior to this, she was the Assistant Director of the Physical & Occupational Department at Valley Presbyterian Hospital. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education from California State University, Northridge and went on to receive her Physical Therapy Degree from CSUN as well. In 2011, she returned to school and completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from EIM Institute of Health Professions. Julianne is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, a section member of both Oncology and Private Practice.

Julianne prides herself on overseeing an engaged group of professionals throughout the continuum of care including acute care, in-patient rehab, OP, oncology rehab at the Disney Family Cancer Center and Home Care. Put simply, she states “I take care of the people who take care of our patients”. Her focus is on creating an environment which empowers her team and helps them be the best they can be.

Julianne is a native Californian. She is the mother to 3 almost grown children, 2 cats and a rambunctious Australian Shepherd. When not at work, Julianne and her husband, Doug, enjoy exploring California by car, entertaining friends and family, and relaxing with a good book.


Beth Mills, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Beth was born and raised in Charlottesville, Virginia. She attended University of Mary Washington earning her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology. Following the completion of her degree, she traveled west to Los Angeles where she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California in 2006. Beth joined Therapeutic Associates shortly after graduation in 2006 and is a senior physical therapist at Providence Saint Joseph’s Medical Center. During her time with Therapeutic Associates she has had the opportunity to provide valuable patient care in the inpatient, acute rehab, and outpatient settings. Joining the Balance and Vestibular clinic team has allowed Beth to pursue her passion of helping neurologically impaired patients continue to thrive. Her experience with providing care to inpatient neurological patients provides her with a background of different levels of neurological impairments. She has supplemented her doctorate by earning her Neuro-IFRAH stroke certification as well as her APTA Clinical Instructor certification. Beth additionally serves as a Therapeutic Associates Certified Mentor to newer staff.

During her free time, Beth enjoys hiking, yoga, swimming, and spending time with friends and family.

Gohar Kapoyan, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Gohar was born in Yerevan, Armenia but raised in Glendale, CA since the age of 11 months. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychobiology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2011. Gohar then went on to receive her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California (USC) in 2016. She completed her last clinical rotation, consisting of 16 weeks, at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center under the mentorship of Beth Mills, the senior therapist in the Balance and Vestibular Clinic. It is there that she discovered her passion for providing valuable patient care to people with neurologic disabilities and helping improve their quality of life. After graduation, Gohar joined the Therapeutic Associates team and had the opportunity to work in the acute care and outpatient settings. She now focuses on increasing her experience in providing excellent care for patients in the Intensive Care Unit, participating in multi-disciplinary patient rounds, and using that knowledge to better serve patients in the Vestibular and Balance Clinic. Gohar has further supplemented her education by becoming a LSVT-BIG certified specialist to focus on patients with Parkinson’s Disease in the outpatient setting.

Outside of work, Gohar enjoys spending time with her husband and French bulldog, refining her Muay Thai skills, and collecting vinyl records.

Sara Robertson

Physical Therapy Aide | Certified Massage Therapist

Sara was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. At a very young age she aspired to work in physical therapy. She received her Associate’s Degree in Natural Sciences and Kinesiology at Los Angeles Valley College. Sara has goals of receiving her Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology soon. With prior training at Southern California Health Institute (SOCHi), Sara became a CAMTC-certified Massage Therapist in 2015. After completing her training, she worked in a previous outpatient physical therapy clinic as a physical therapy aide and massage therapist. It was there that she discovered the need to provide valuable patient care in every aspect. After 18 months, Sara received the opportunity to join Therapeutic Associates as a physical therapy aide in the inpatient and outpatient settings.

Outside of work, Sara enjoys camping with her boyfriend and dog, Bella, partaking in extreme sports, hiking, rock climbing, and traveling.
