Ashley Kate “A.K.” Whittaker
A.K. is a single mom with many responsibilities. While she puts being Mom first, her career as a Personal Trainer and Athlete comes next. A.K. works at the local YMCA, serving the better side of 30 personal training clients per week, and teaching P90X, INSANITY, Bootcamp, and Obstacle Racing classes. She says she is in the business of changing lives.
Fitness took her for a life-changing turn at the age of 31 and she has blazed full force into a career in health and fitness, and she has never looked back. A.K. LOVES to run, but has participated in several other sports, including two IRONMAN 70.3, SPARTAN Springs, is a four-time Boston Qualifier, and actually had the opportunity to complete this historic race in 2018. A.K. is a Level Two Certified USA Weightlifting Coach and is passionate about marrying the “best of both worlds,” weightlifting and running/triathlons. A.K. enjoys seeing people turn an “I couldn’t ever…” into an “I JUST DID!”
A.K. believed that there is magic in movement and even after undergoing a life-threatening surgery in August of 2018, through the help of Therapeutic Associates, she made the podium at her first race of 2019. A.K.’s competitive and fire-lit spirit driver her to aim to place in the top three (podium) during every race, giving it her all while tying community together through local races.
