Tyrel Nelson - Nampa Physical Therapy

Tyrel Nelson, PT, DPT, ATC

Practice Manager | Physical Therapist

Tyrel attended Boise State University as an undergraduate studying Athletic Training, where he went on to certify as an Athletic Trainer. His enthusiasm for sports and rehabilitation led him to further pursue his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Tyrel is passionate about helping athletes of all ages improve their performance as well as remain pain and injury free.

His treatment philosophy includes empowering patients through education and active participation during treatment in order to maximize recovery. He focuses on developing individualized plans of care utilizing a variety of techniques to improve function and quality of life.

Tyrel is excited to return and experience all that the Treasure Valley has to offer. Outside of the clinic he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids. When possible he loves to travel, participate in recreational sports, explore the great outdoors, and work on his family’s farm.

Susan Ackerman_Therapeutic Associates Physical Therapy - Nampa

Susan Ackerman, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Susan completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at University of Nevada – Las Vegas, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Her passion for studying exercise physiology and biomechanics lead her to pursue a Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Duke University in 2015 where she also played club water polo at the national level all three years.

Her treatment philosophy includes using a combination of manual therapy, education, and exercise to help people achieve their goals and return to participation in their desired activities. With her diverse experience in physical therapy, Susan takes a holistic approach with her patients with incorporation of yoga, Pilates, and mindfulness. With experience treating various orthopedic conditions, she has a special interest and expertise treating the following:

  • Headaches/Facial pain
  • Spine
  • Upper extremity (shoulder/elbow/wrist/hand)
  • Hip/pelvis
  • Post-op
  • Women’s health (pre-/post-partum, incontinence, urinary urgency, pain)
  • Cardiopulmonary

Outside of her career, Susan enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, outdoor activities, knitting/crocheting, yoga, and Pilates. Her goal is to travel regularly alongside her boyfriend and visit every National Park in the United States in her lifetime.

Teisha Banda - Therapeutic Associates Physical Therapy - Nampa

Teisha Banda, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Teisha graduated with Cum Laude Honors from Boise State University with a Bachelors of Science in 2015. She continued her education at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA and received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2020. After graduation Teisha was eager to move back to her home state to start her career as a physical therapist.

Professionally, Teisha is excited to pursue her special interests in orthopedics, manual therapy, functional dry needling, facial distortion model and lymphedema. Her professional approach to care is to individualize her treatment plans to fit the functional needs of her patients and improve their ability to move. She believes everyone should enjoy movement and live a fulfilled life.

Outside of the workplace Teisha loves to spend my time with her husband, family and two fur babies. She loves the outdoors and enjoys everything that Idaho has to offer. Razor rides, kayaking, rafting or even just a lazy morning on the deck drinking coffee, if it’s in the mountains she is happy. When she is not getting lost in the mountains, she enjoys playing soccer. On her creative side she enjoys creating homemade crafts.
