Michaela Cioffredi, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Michaela grew up in New Hampshire and attended Ithaca College in New York, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Clinical Health Studies and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. During her undergraduate years she competed on the cross-country and track & field team and was an assistant coach while in graduate school. Michaela enjoys working with individuals of all ages and diagnoses to help them return to their passions in life.

She has a special interest in working with the Spanish-speaking population, youth athletes and outdoor recreationists. Michaela is specialized in treating pelvic floor dysfunction and pain as well for women of all ages and backgrounds. Regardless of the type of population, Michaela is excited to help all individuals return to the things they love doing in life.

In her free time, she enjoys exploring hiking trails, running, rock climbing, and seeing all the wonders of the Pacific Northwest.

8 month after a duster bicep tendon repair. When I lift weights my forearm by elbow get agitated. Does this mean I will have discomfort until it’s completely healed?

My 11 year old son is having a case of little league elbow. He also swims on a recreational summer swim team. Would continuing to swim every day be good or bad for his rehab? Should I have him rest from swimming as well?

i! I’m a lacrosse player and during our warmups I was back-peddling and felt a sharp pain in the side of my quad and my leg kinda of gave out. I pulled my groin and heard it “pop” last Tuesday. I woke up the next day with little to no pain. Currently I don’t feel any pain, just a slight discomfort. How can I improve my groin and how do I treat it?

Should my baseball athlete be icing their shoulder every day?

My 15 year old son is a catcher for high school baseball team. He has caught 8/10 games so far. He didn't play in the game a few days ago because he said his arm is hurting. He thought he would be OK with only 1 day of rest between games last week, but he sat out the entire game. Should he be icing his arm everyday after throwing or should he be icing everyday regardless if he throws or not? I have read conflicting reports that say icing is not good for recovery.
