ACL Prevention Screen March 05, 2020 | 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Over 100,000 anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries occur in the United States each year. One in 100 female high school athletes will tear their ACL, and one in 10 female collegiate athletes will tear their ACL. This typically results in the loss of one season of play if they return, a decline in academic performance, and increased risk of early onset knee arthritis. Most of these injuries are non-contact occurring in sports, such as soccer, basketball, gymnastics, and volleyball that involve pivoting, cutting, or jumping. Fortunately, with the correct knowledge most of the risk of these injuries can be mitigated with awareness and training.
