Spencer Kaufman was born and raised in Salem, Oregon. He has participated in many different sports and physical activities such as Gymnastics, Soccer, Softball, Baseball, Wrestling, Cross Country, Track (Javelin, Pole Vault, 3000M). He attended Oregon State University originally for engineering but after a year of school he joined the Army National Guard. After his training was done he came back to Oregon State and switched his major to Exercise and Sports Science with a pre-Physical therapy option.
After he changed his major he took a personal training preparation class through the university’s recreation facility and was asked to join their team. Soon after joining he took his ACE personal training exam and became a certified personal trainer in 2012. He started personal training and then started teaching group fitness classes, Sports Conditioning and Beaver Bootcamp which combined and became Oregon State’s Dam Fit small group training. Being passionate about physical therapy he took the Kinetic Integrated Exercise Professional (KIEP) course and was asked to be a trainer for them. Through the KIEP training he was able to work with many different populations of injuries and dysfunctions. After a few years he became the supervisor and was allowed to teach the KIEP certification class to other professionals.
In his off time he enjoys weightlifting, running, cycling, backpacking, skiing, snowboarding, hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, kayaking and other activities depending on the season.
