Sasha Scamarone - L.O. Physical Therapy

Alexandra "Sasha" Scamarone

Alexandra “Sasha” Scamarone is a board-certified acupuncturist licensed in the state of Oregon. Sasha spent her early days in North Carolina, where she ran cross-country and track in high school and later took up yoga, biking and salsa dancing. Physical activity has always brought her great joy and she is passionate about helping people regain and optimize their function and health with acupuncture and other Chinese medicine therapies.

Sasha completed a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine at the National University of Natural Medicine in 2012, graduating with Honors in Research. She worked as a research assistant and coordinator at the Helfgott Research Institute, assisting with qualitative research design and analysis on the community acupuncture model and co-authoring two publications. In her clinical practice, she strives to integrate evidence-based acupuncture research with classical Chinese medicine therapies.

Sasha has six years of clinical experience and has treated patients in a variety of settings, including a one-year clinical rotation at the OHSU Richmond Family Medicine Clinic and a two-and-a-half-year post-graduate clinical internship, where she received mentorship from two senior acupuncturists from China. Sasha also worked at an integrative urgent care clinic focused on injury rehabilitation and at a primary care clinic, working alongside primary care providers. She is a strong proponent of an integrative approach to healthcare. She currently sees patients at Therapeutics Associates-Lake Oswego where she runs her own clinic while working collaboratively with TAI’s integrative physical therapy team.

Prior to becoming an acupuncturist, Sasha had an eight-year career in language education and taught in universities in Mexico, France and the United States, as well as at a local-area Waldorf high school. She is fluent in Spanish and French. Outside of work, you will find her spending time in nature, cooking or salsa dancing with her husband and son.
