Paul Cooley is a Northwest native joining us after an extended period on the East Coast. He received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Columbia University Medical Center in New York, where he participated in their Orthopedic Specialty Tract and competed on the Medical School’s Rugby team. He has received advanced training in Sport rehabilitation, Amputee Return to Sport, Concussion Management, and Orthopedic intervention of hand, wrist, foot and ankle. He has been with our organization in different capacities for 5 years and has completed multiple clinical experiences throughout Portland and the greater Northwest.
Venturing into Physical Therapy after a previous career as a commercial fisherman in Alaska, Paul has spent many years working with his back. As a result, he approaches each patient’s care with special awareness to the demands of their occupation, sport, or other situation. He aims to incorporate these obligations into his plan of care and restrict participation in sport or work as little as possible during your recovery.
Outside of the clinic, Paul enjoys spending time with his friends in the outdoors, woodworking, running, cycling, and playing all sports. He dreams of revisiting Ireland and can frequently be heard humming old tunes around the clinic. He is actively developing Adaptive Sports for disabled individuals in the Portland area and hopes to help all his patients improve their vitality.
