Asiya Akhgar - NE Portland Physical Therapy

Asiya Akhgar, PT, DPT, ATC

Physical Therapist

Asiya completed her undergraduate studies at Eastern Washington University, earning degrees in both Athletic Training and Exercise science. She worked full time as a Certified Athletic Trainer for a year prior to her matriculation into Physical Therapy school where she earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Pacific University in Oregon. During her studies she found a passion working with patients in both the outpatient orthopedic and outpatient neurology settings. Both passions have increased her experience and desire to evaluate and rehabilitate the athletic, concussion, stroke, and vestibular/balance populations. Asiya’s goal is to instill a sense of independence in her patients and focus on individualized treatment plans.

Community service is a core value to her, whether it is through volunteering at a local race, or speaking with high school students about a career in physical therapy. In her spare time, she enjoys staying active through weight lifting, soccer, hiking, and rock climbing. On a rainy day she can be found at various coffee shops enjoying a book or painting.
