Bret grew up in Southern Oregon, competing for South Medford High School in baseball, swimming, and water polo. After attaining his Bachelor of Science from Portland State University, Bret attended the School of Physical Therapy at George Fox University. As a graduate student, Bret conducted research related to motor control and hip fracture. Upon graduating with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy, Bret was recognized with the Pursuit of Excellence award.
An athletic injury and the subsequent rehabilitation sparked Bret’s interest in physical therapy. His interests include orthopedic physical therapy and sports rehabilitation. Bret’s treatment approach is founded on evidence-based practice employing manual therapy, exercise, and education. He is advancing his training by pursuing a Residency focused on Orthopedic Manual Therapy. One component of his residency education includes manual therapy training through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy.
In his free time, Bret enjoys spending time with his wife and son, exercising, reading, and being outdoors.
