John Nielsen

John Nielsen, PT, DPT

John began his career with Therapeutic Associates as a staff physical therapist in Eugene Oregon after graduating from Creighton University with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. John completed the Orthopedic Residency program and the Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist examination before accepting the Director of Physical Therapy position in June of 2012. After spending over 5 years in Eugene, John was presented with an opportunity to continue his director responsibilities at Seattle Physical Therapy. John still spends the large majority of his time in patient care in addition to his administrative responsibilities. He enjoys treating a variety of patient populations but has a special interest in lower extremity injuries, sports rehabilitation and shoulder mechanics.

John married the love of his life, Amanda, in September 2013. They both enjoy an active lifestyle and socializing with friends and family. John’s interests include hiking, backpacking, skiing, and triathlons. He also enjoys traveling across the United States and abroad.

Amanda Nielsen

Amanda Nielsen, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Amanda is a Nebraska native but spent most of her childhood in Missoula, Montana. She completed her undergraduate degree in Exercises Science at Montana State University in Bozeman and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.

Amanda has continued her education with advanced training in the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy and Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehab Institute. She joined TAI in 2013 and enjoys treating patients throughout the lifespan with a variety of musculoskeletal issues. Her special interests include treatment of lower extremity injuries, athletic rehabilitation and pelvic floor wellness.

In her spare time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband in the great outdoors. Her interests include hiking, camping, skiing and training for triathlons.

Daniella Welsh

Daniella Welsh, PTA

Physical Therapist Assistant

Daniella interned at Therapeutic Associates Seattle Physical Therapy in 2016 while completing her Physical Therapist Assistant Degree at Whatcom Community College.

Her special interests include posture and breathing mechanics and their relation to core stabilization and neck, back, shoulder, and hip pain. Daniella’s top priorities are compassionate patient-centered care and emphasizes the benefit of preventative PT.

In 2011, Daniella earned undergraduate degrees in psychology and Spanish from Western Washington University. As a life-long athlete herself, the transition from psychology to physical therapy was a natural one. She has a passion for holistic well-being and great appreciation for the connection between mental and physical health.

In her spare time, Daniella enjoys spending time with family and playing and coaching ultimate Frisbee.
