John Nielsen

John Nielsen, PT, DPT

John graduated with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Creighton University and did his undergraduate studies at the University of Northern Colorado in Exercise Sport Science. John joined Therapeutic Associates in 2010. He completed the Orthopaedic Residency program and became a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist in 2012. He has been a clinic director at Therapeutic Associates since 2012. He joined Therapeutic Associates Seattle Physical Therapy as the clinic director in 2016. He completed a pain science certification and became a Therapeutic Pain Specialist in 2018.

John enjoys treating a variety of patients and has a special interest in lower extremity injuries, sports rehabilitation and shoulder mechanics. On the weekend, John can be found spending time with his wife and son, Amanda and Ben. He enjoys the outdoors, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Amanda Nielsen

Amanda Nielsen, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Amanda is a Nebraska native but spent most of her childhood in Missoula, Montana. She completed her undergraduate degree in Exercises Science at Montana State University in Bozeman and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.

Amanda has continued her education with advanced training in the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy and Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehab Institute. She joined TAI in 2013 and enjoys treating patients throughout the lifespan with a variety of musculoskeletal issues. Her special interests include treatment of lower extremity injuries, athletic rehabilitation and pelvic floor wellness.

In her spare time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family and loves exploring the great outdoors. Her interests include hiking, camping, running and skiing.

Brianna Durand

Brianna Durand

Physical Therapist

Brianna earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy at Texas Woman’s University in Houston, TX and her Bachelor’s of Athletic Medicine at University of Texas San Antonio. During graduate school, she interned at Seattle Physical Therapy and received a 12 week mentorship on pelvic floor and orthopedic physical therapy. As a competitive powerlifter, Brianna enjoys working with female athletes who experience stress urinary incontinence. She is passionate about providing care to individuals in the LGBTQ+ community, especially those undergoing hormonal/surgical transition. Additional clinical interests of her’s include: prenatal/postpartum care, vestibular and balance rehab, and sports-related injuries. In her spare time, Brianna enjoys playing board games, lifting heavy, and watching stand-up comedy.

Daniella Welsh

Daniella Welsh, PTA

Physical Therapist Assistant

Daniella interned at Therapeutic Associates Seattle Physical Therapy in 2016 while completing her Physical Therapist Assistant Degree at Whatcom Community College.

Her special interests include posture and breathing mechanics and their relation to core stabilization and neck, back, shoulder, and hip pain. Daniella’s top priorities are compassionate patient-centered care and emphasizes the benefit of preventative PT.

In 2011, Daniella earned undergraduate degrees in psychology and Spanish from Western Washington University. As a life-long athlete herself, the transition from psychology to physical therapy was a natural one. She has a passion for holistic well-being and great appreciation for the connection between mental and physical health.

In her spare time, Daniella enjoys spending time with family and playing and coaching ultimate Frisbee.
