Anders Gundersen

Exercise Specialist

About

Anders graduated from Skidmore College with a degree in exercise science in 2015. He deliberated between a career in physical therapy and clinical research. Ultimately, he decided to attend the University of Massachusetts Boston to pursue a Masters degree in exercise physiology with a focus on clinical research, finishing this degree in 2018.

Anders has been involved in athletics for most of his life, having played hockey from childhood through college. Shortly after college, he worked as a personal trainer and a physical therapy aide. After completing his masters degree, he worked in various health-related research environments for the next seven years. These ranged from skeletal muscle physiology to health policy to pharmaceutical clinical trials. Anders moved to Portland from Boston with his wife in 2020, who at the time was about to begin her medical residency. He now joins PACE hoping to switch from research back toward physical therapy, and plans to pursue a certification as a physical therapy assistant.

Outside of work, Anders likes hanging out with his wife and friends, but mostly his dog, Jack. He also enjoys most things exercise, outdoor, and travel related, but certainly won’t shy away from a lazy day indoors.
