Raised in the Land of Enchantment (aka New Mexico), Brooke Foster began her journey by receiving a BS in Biology from the University of New Mexico in 2003 and starting a career in research at Los Alamos National Laboratory. She quickly realized the desk job life was not for her, so she moved to the medical sector and worked nights at a hospital lab, where she fell in love with medicine. Upon weighing her medical field options, physical therapy seemed a perfect fit for her active lifestyle and personality. Brooke received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of New Mexico and has felt at home in her profession ever since.
Anyone who knows Brooke is aware of her passion for pelvic floor therapy. This passion was ignited in PT school by a guest speaker that led to Brooke starting the first pelvic floor clinical rotation at UNM. Upon graduating, Brooke continued to take just about every pelvic floor specialty course available on top of working in a multidisciplinary women’s health clinic alongside urogynecologists, gynecologists, residents, medical students, and midwives. This extensive experience has given her the ability to think outside the box and to have a deep reverence for the human body and its amazing ability to heal.
Five years ago, Brooke and her family moved to the PNW in search of new mountains to play on and have fallen in love with the new scenery and climate. Brooke specifically likes to play on bikes in the mountains with her husband but has been known to bike on asphalt and gravel when the mountains are covered in snow. Other hobbies include beer tasting, sourdough, search and rescue, dog training, wrestling with her daughter, and taming chaos.
