Derek was raised in Gresham where he enjoyed playing sports and spending time with friends and family. During his time at Sam Barlow High School, he enjoyed playing soccer and football. During this time, he also developed a passion for the sciences and serving his community.
Derek is a recent graduate of Oregon State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in BioHealth Sciences. He participated in multiple multicultural organizations and began his path towards a career within the health-care field.
On his free time Derek enjoys attending sporting events, hiking, and traveling.
