Leanne, PT, DPT, was born and raised in San Diego, California and grew up frequenting the beach with her family and living in the sports world playing soccer, softball and volleyball. Even though Leanne played multiple, competitive sports growing up, she never acquired an injury necessitating PT. Her passion for physical therapy began when she was in high school and learned about the career in one of her elective courses. She grew up seeking ways to help friends, family and strangers in need and believed that rehabbing injuries was the perfect space for her to assist her community and return smiles to those who are hurting.
Leanne graduated from San Diego State University in 2019 where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Pre Physical Therapy. At SDSU, Leanne pursued softball and played briefly for the D1 Aztec Softball Team. She also began pursuing other interests, completing a minor in Religious Studies and found a new love for rock climbing. She joined the Climbing Club which lead her to many world class climbing destinations. It also lead her to tearing her ACL and meniscus, landing Leanne in a physical therapy clinic for the first time as a patient.
Leanne was eager to change her scenery when it came to applying for graduate school. She attended George Fox University in Newberg, OR and graduated in 2023 earning her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree. Throughout her clinical experiences, Leanne has enjoyed working with a wide range of individuals including elder adults who are at risk for falls, athletes of any sport or age, and the weekend warriors.
Now, living in Portland, you can find Leanne hiking and snowshoeing across the PNW with her dog, eating at PDX Sliders, and mastering her past endeavors with sports (golf, climbing, skiing and volleyball) and artwork (pyrography and calligraphy) in her free time.
