About

Marian joined Grants Pass PT in 2007. She holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University, a MA in Exercise and Sports Sciences, concentration in Dance, from the University of Arizona, and a BA from Smith College in Theatre/Dance and Religion/Philospohy.  Marian’s experience as a professional modern dancer/choreographer and yoga instructor inspired her to become a PT and influences her treatment style today. Her areas of interest include rehabilitation of the spine and extremities in both post-surgical and chronic pain patients. Specializing in the treatment of neck/low back pain, headaches, and TMJ pain, Marian has also been trained in Strain-Counterstrain, Craniosacral, accupressure and Myofascial Release techniques. She has a strong exercise background in addition to her manual skills. Her approach to physical therapy encourages patients to develop a better awareness of their posture and movement patterns as they exercise or receive manual therapy. She teaches a therapeutic yoga class in the clinic and plans to offer a sit-to-stand strength and stretch class in the near future.

Marian loves living the Oregon lifestyle with her husband, Dave, and daughter, Hope, after having lived in the Arizona Sonoran desert for 25 years where she owned a PT clinic.
