Physical Therapist Assistant

About

Michael received his Physical Therapist Assistant Degree from Mt. Hood Community College. Prior to receiving his Physical Therapist Assistant license, he graduated from University of Puget Sound with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. He has spent significant time in various physical therapy clinics and has experience working as an Aide and Exercise Specialist within therapeutic associates. He is passionate about working with athletes and treating sports injuries, as well as caring for geriatric patients with balance and gait impairments. He strives to be a lifelong learner and enjoys the problem-solving aspect of physical therapy. Physical therapy is important to him because it allows him to use his knowledge and skill set to make a positive impact on patients’ lives.

He is a Portland native who grew up in West Linn where he started wrestling at the age of three. He eventually wrestled for West Linn High School, which contributed to his interest in pursuing physical therapy as a career. Now he is a competitive Muay Thai athlete and enjoys running to supplement his training. Outside of physical therapy and athletics, you can find him exploring Portland’s restaurant scene, trying out new hiking trails in the area, watching Mixed Martial Arts, and playing with his feisty cat.
