Sofia has lived in the Pacific Northwest her entire life. She was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, and earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Puget Sound. Before that, she completed her undergraduate degree in Human Physiology with a minor in Chemistry at the University of Oregon.
Sofia grew up playing competitive soccer, which led to multiple lower extremity injuries that put her in and out of physical therapy throughout middle and high school. Inspired by her physical therapist, she developed a strong passion for the field through her own experiences as a patient. Sofia even spent time working for the same clinic she was a patient at before attending graduate school!
Sofia enjoys treating a vast range of injuries and patients, with a passion for sports injuries and balance impairments. She has experience treating neurological disorders, vestibular impairments, orthopedic impairments, chronic pain, balance issues and athletic injuries. Her treatment approach is holistic and patient-centered, prioritizing individual goals and helping patients return to functional activities.
Outside of work, you can find Sofia exploring Portland’s food scene, trying new restaurants and cafes with friends and family. She also enjoys hiking, experimenting with new baking recipes, watching reality TV with her two cats, or attending a Zumba class with her sister.
