Taryn received her BS in Human Biology in 2020 from Biola University in Southern California. She later moved up to Oregon and graduated with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2025 from George Fox University. She had her first clinical rotation at Ability, where she grew as a clinician under Emily’s expert guidance and mentorship – she loved her experience so much that she decided to return after graduation!
Taryn’s journey to physical therapy has been marked with a desire to serve people. She thoroughly enjoyed the various service opportunities that George Fox’s physical therapy program provided, where she was able to grow her skills while providing care for people in need. Some of the most impactful experiences included working 1-on-1 with individuals recovering from strokes or other neurologic disorders, leading weekly exercise classes to promote resilience and decrease fall risk in older populations, and flying to Uganda in 2024 to provide physical therapy to children with disabilities and other underserved populations in medical deserts. Taryn loves to work with all patients across the lifespan, but has a special interest in working with children. She completed her final clinical rotation at Shriners Children’s Hospital in Portland, where her passion for pediatrics continued to grow. She is now bringing her expertise to Ability, where she treats kids of all ages, from babies to teenagers, with various diagnoses: torticollis, developmental delay, neuromuscular disorders, congenital disorders, sports injuries, and more. No matter the age, Taryn’s favorite part of PT is helping patients get back to doing what they need and love to do!
Born and raised in Sacramento, California, Taryn loves to go back to visit her family and friends back home. But she is also enjoying living in the Willamette Valley and seeing everything that beautiful Oregon has to offer. Her and her husband John enjoy trying different foods and exploring the Pacific Northwest. Outside of the clinic, you can find Taryn thrifting, vintage shopping, or doing something crafty.
