Tegan Biun

Physical Therapy Aide

About

Tegan joined the Therapeutic Associates Physical Therapy – East PDX family as a Physical Therapy Aide in July 2024, shortly after relocating to Portland. She is currently pursuing her Physical Therapist Assistant AAS degree at Mt. Hood Community College and is eager to build her career in physical therapy. Tegan’s personal experience with physical therapy after sustaining injuries ignited her passion for helping others on their healing journeys and instilled in her a genuine empathy for the patients she works with.

With a BA in English from the University of Rochester and diverse post-baccalaureate studies—including Cognitive Linguistics at the University of Florida and Equine Science at Colorado State University—Tegan brings a unique perspective to her work. Her decade-long experience crafting cider and wine in New York, Vermont, Sweden, and Virginia has equipped her with a broad range of experiences that help her connect with patients from all walks of life and instilled in her a strong belief in equity and inclusion.

Outside of work and studies, Tegan enjoys hiking, dancing at EDM shows and festivals (Trance is her favorite), foraging for wild mushrooms, traveling (especially internationally), photography, playing Dungeons & Dragons and board games, exploring new restaurants, and immersing herself in books and shows (especially fantasy/sci-fi). She shares her life with her partner of 20+ years and their two rescue cats. Tegan is delighted to call Portland home and is excited to experience all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer.

Favorite dessert? Kouign Amann (imagine a cross between a croissant and a palmier: butter-laminated pastry dough, rolled in sugar, baked until flaky and caramelized).

If you could be an animal? Quokka, the happiest animal in the world.
