PT Practice Owners

Selling your practice or looking for a business partner?

We understand, you have invested your career in building your practice and want to make sure your patients and employees are taken care of as you consider selling your practice . Therapeutic Associates is one of the largest physical therapist owned and operated companies in the US. The Company was a pioneer in private practice when it was founded in 1952, and PT ownership is as important today as it was then. Our culture is a key component to our success. Each clinic director is committed to providing the highest level of clinical quality and customer service. If one word could describe our culture it would be “family”, encompassing belonging, caring, compassion, responsibility and community. Healing, individual focus, one-on-one service and a tradition of caring is our commitment to our patient and our communities.

Our model is unique and affords our physical therapy partners the best of both worlds. Through centralized administrative services, our clinic directors and physical therapists can confidently focus on providing exceptional patient care – why they chose this profession in the first place.

Let’s face it, we all understand that healthcare is more complex than ever with continuously changing regulatory requirements that can be difficult to manage. We also recognize the challenges independent practices face with staffing, marketing, and all the critical aspects of running a successful business. Our clinic directors have the support of a large breadth of administrative services, and the autonomy to manage their clinics to best meet the needs of their patients. Therapeutic Associates has some of the most experienced healthcare executives in the industry who are focused on managing the business health side of our practices. Our administrative services include compliance, billing, collections, IT, systems, human resources, payroll, recruiting, legal, finance, purchasing, facilities management, contracting, operations, marketing, continuing education, employee engagement, etc. Our experience in supporting over 100 clinic locations translates into smooth integration of new clinics and teams into the Therapeutic Associates family.

Our History

Therapeutic Associates Physical Therapy was born from the vision of two of the founding members of the private practice section of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Physical Therapists Jim McKillip and Robert Dicus started the company in 1952, inspired to create a safe, caring and healing environment where patients of every age and ability could achieve their goals and learn to live life without limits. Their standards of excellence continue to drive our company to this day.
