Tina, a native of Florida, earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University of Central Florida, with a research focus on minimalist running. Before pursuing a career in Physical Therapy, she served as an Active Duty Military Officer for six years in the United States Coast Guard. Her assignments included Key West as the Navigator of a 270’ ship and San Francisco as the Operational Planner and Weapons Officer for a deployable Maritime Safety and Security Team. After the military, she chose Physical Therapy to follow her passion of health and wellness and to become an expert in exercise.
With exercise as her medicine, Tina’s focus is to help patients recover from and prevent injury through functional movement so that they can maintain an active lifestyle. Her specialties include running analysis, minimalist running, and strength and conditioning as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association National Chapter, Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy Section, Oregon Chapter, and National Strength and Conditioning Association. Her plans are to pursue manual therapy, functional movement screening, and bike fit analysis.
Tina recently moved with her husband from Florida to Oregon to be closer to family, enjoy the outdoor activities so prominent in the Pacific Northwest, and finally experience seasons. In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, biking, running, hiking, crafting, high-intensity workouts, cooking, and being a “foodie” all around Portland.
