Rachel graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Human Physiology from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. She then worked as an aide at Ballard Physical Therapy before earning her doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. After graduating, she moved back to Ballard where she was born and raised.
Rachel enjoys working with patients of many ages and who have a variety of conditions. She loves all aspects of physical therapy but particularly likes working with patients pre- and post-partum. She continues to search for evidence to drive the manual techniques, therapeutic activities, and exercises that she utilizes in her treatment sessions. Rachel is passionate about empowering her patients to understand their bodies and find strategies for living a healthy life in recovery and in prevention of future injuries.
Rachel enjoys rock climbing, running, soccer, and other outdoor activities. In her spare time she volunteers with the American Physical Therapy Association. There, she advocates for the profession of physical therapy and helps to facilitate outreach events to educate high school and middle school students about physical therapy. She also contributes her perspective to help foster diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging initiatives on a company and community level. She received the 2022 Donna El Din Distinguished Service Award for these efforts.
