Tiernan was born and raised in Eugene, Oregon, and she’s lived in Atlanta, Georgia and Pittsburgh Pennsylvania! For her undergraduate studies, Tiernan went to Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia to receive her bachelor’s degree of science in Human Health. Following undergrad, Tiernan attended University of Pittsburgh to receive her doctorate in Physical Therapy.
During high school, Tiernan completed an internship with Hanger Clinic and fell in love with designing prosthetics and physical therapy for amputees. She also has a special interest in working with dancers, circus artists, and gymnasts for injury prevention and treatment of hypermobile athletes! This is due to Tiernan being an Aerial Circus Performer herself for the last 12 years! She primarily trains on Aerial Silks, but she has experience in flying trapeze, aerial hoop, aerial yoga, and two-person aerial acrobatics.
Outside of her Aerial Circus performing, since moving back home Tiernan is happy to get back to attending track and field events at Hayward Field! She also has a couple of family dogs, Koko and Lolli. They are both Whippets, and Koko is a retired champion lure courser while Lolli is a puppy who loves all squeaky toys and paper bags!
