Angela Lewis - TAI Physical Therapy at Crescent Village

Angela Lewis, PT, DPT, ATC

Angela is a Eugene, Oregon native and takes great pride in serving her community through wellness. She graduated Cum Laude from Oregon State University in 2000 with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science. In that same year she earned her Athletic Training Certification through NATABOC, and then went on to attend Pacific University where she graduated with distinction and earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2004.

A visit with Angela will include a comprehensive evaluation of your condition, pulling in aspects that contribute to your condition including other body systems. She has a strong background in manual therapy utilizing techniques such as Myofascial Release, Joint mobilization/manipulation, Astym™, and the Fascial Distortion Model. Angela’s holistic treatment philosophy emphasizes the overall wellbeing of her patients. Her commitment to her patients is reflected in dedicated one-on-one treatment, with emphasis on her patient’s goals, and reinforced by the latest research and results.

Outside of being a Physical Therapist, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. She loves to spend her time outdoors skiing, running, hiking, and camping with friends and family.

Lizzy Treeheart - Therapeutic Associates Physical Therapy at Crescent Village

Lizzy Treeheart, PT

Physical Therapist

Lizzy graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Athletic Training in 1991. She went on to attend graduate school at the University of Indianapolis where she earned a Master’s in Physical Therapy in 1994. With her 23 years of experience, she brings a comprehensive understanding of client care from a variety of settings. Her favorite setting is outpatient.

Lizzy has specialized training in osteopathic techniques, which are gentle, hands-on approaches that assess a person as a whole and addresses the root causes of pain. These include Visceral Manipulation through the Barral Institute and Craniosacral Therapy through the Upledger Institute. These skills are effective with a wide range of clients from high level athletes dealing with injuries to others dealing with chronic pain. Her philosophy is holistic and incorporates the emotional/mental aspect by incorporating intuitive counseling when appropriate. She loves learning and continues to incorporate new techniques to help clients get better quicker.

She lives in Eugene with her wife, Louann, and their 2 dogs. They enjoy hiking, mountain biking, camping, and kayaking/canoeing. She also volunteers time working for a non-profit organization, TheInnerRevolution.Org, fighting to meet the needs of people and the Earth.

Des Matyas - Therapeutic Associates Physical Therapy at Crescent Village

Des Matyas, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Des graduated from California State University of Fullerton with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 2000 and finished with a spot on the Dean’s list with academic honors. She then moved to Eugene, Oregon in 2008 where she graduated from the University of Oregon with a 4.0 GPA and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Physiology. She went on to obtain a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Pacific University where she served as Class President throughout the program. She has spent the better part of her life participating in, and coaching, a variety of sports including softball, hockey, martial arts, and roller derby and during this time, rehabbing her own injuries fueled her interest in this profession.

Des enjoys helping those recovering from a variety of orthopedic conditions such as sport-related injuries, joint replacement surgeries, work-related injuries, and low back pain. She also has a special interest in balance and vestibular disorders and other neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease and stroke. Des is committed to treating each patient individually and holistically. She builds a rapport with clients and takes personal goals, interests, and schedules into consideration when planning treatments.

Des is passionate about lifelong learning and consistently seeks new opportunities to expand her knowledge and skills. It is her professional goal to seek advanced specialty certification in orthopedics to further her knowledge in the field. She uses a combination of manual therapy and individualized exercise therapy to facilitate healing and empowers patients to take their rehab into their own hands as they return to their meaningful daily activities.

Outside of work, Des enjoys traveling around the world, and exploring Oregon. She takes full advantage of all the amazing things Eugene has to offer and especially enjoys roller skating on the many trails, hiking, and trying new food at local restaurants.

Kat Burns

Kathleen Burns, PT, DPT

Kathleen (Kat) graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Ithaca College in 2014 and graduated with a B.S. in Clinical Health Studies, also from Ithaca College in 2012. She is an orthopedic certified specialist, a certified orthopaedic manual therapist, and a certified breathing behavioral analyst. She is currently in the North American Institute of Manual Physical Therapy (NAIOMT) fellowship program and works as a certified mentor. Though Kat treats all parts of the body, she particularly enjoys treating scoliosis and using biofeedback for breathing dysfunction.

Kat enjoys anything outdoors. She is a graduate of Outward Bound and the National Outdoor Leadership School. Kat also has experience with horseback riding, especially hunter/jumper and dressage. She is a certified yoga instructor and primarily does vinyasa flow. She is originally from Cleveland, Ohio but is happy to now call Eugene home.

Michael Winn, LMT

Licensed Massage Therapist

Michael is a graduate of the Massage Therapy program at Lane Community College where he excelled in classroom studies and clinical experience. As a Licensed Massage Therapist and dedicated to helping amateur athletes, Michael has been involved in the health and fitness movement for over 30 years. Using his experience with deep tissue, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and sports massage to incorporate with his solid foundation in Swedish bodywork, Michael has been helping a diverse range of clients meet their wellness goals, manage stress, and recover from a wide range of trauma including sports injury, work related and motor vehicle injury, with a special interest in whiplash and concussion rehab.

Michael is committed to lifelong learning and integrating new techniques and strategies to help his patients recover quickly and completely, tailoring each treatment plan to the individual and situation. He is committed to working with other providers including referring physicians and physical therapists to ensure the goals for the patient are being met. Michael is excited to be part of the great team at Therapeutic Associates and is dedicated to bringing clients the best in bodywork and massage.

When he’s not in the clinic, you can find Michael on the bike trails, golf courses, ski slopes, and single tracks all over the Pacific Northwest.

Jesse Rangel - Therapeutic Associates Physical Therapy at Crescent Village

Exercise Specialist / Personal Trainer

After graduating from Central Washington University with a BS in exercise science, Jesse interned at Fitness Quest 10 in San Diego. During this internship, at one of the country’s top 10 sports performance facilities, he quickly realized that he wanted to pursue a career in the fitness and wellness industry and help others achieve their fitness and therapeutic goals.

Jesse has been training for 4+ years and utilizes his expertise as a strength and conditioning specialist to drive his passion to help others through fitness. Jesse believes fitness is a lifelong journey that isn’t all measured on the scale, but rather how the body and mind feel after a workout. During his sessions, he strives to make training a safe, enjoyable and effective experience.
