Programs and Services
The term “manual therapy” refers to hands-on treatment of muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints. Manual therapy encompasses a broad group of sophisticated techniques performed by hand and by uniquely trained physical therapists. These may include mobilizations or manipulations of soft tissue and skeletal joints. Manual therapy techniques aim to decrease pain and increase function.
Orthopedic Physical Therapy
Orthopedic Physical Therapy is the core of our practice and represents the majority of the services we offer. Physical Therapy, provided by a licensed Physical Therapist (PT), is a medical specialty that focuses on the prevention and treatment of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular dysfunction. Physical Therapists specialize in anatomy and physiology and are experts in understanding how movement, posture, and function affect the wellness of an individual.
Back, Neck and Spinal Problems
Neck pain has many causes and can also be quite disabling. No matter what type of back and neck problems you have, Advantage Physical Therapy can help. Our customized programs are designed to decrease pain and promote healing. We help patients overcome their back and neck problems through a variety of therapies.
Chronic Pain Program
Origins of persistent pain are diverse and can include muscle, joint, and/or nerve dysfunction and emotional attachment. In patients with persistent pain, growing evidence supports the importance of central sensitization (increased sensitivity of the central nervous system). In such cases, traditional approaches with Physical Therapy will not be successful, and will in some instances worsen the condition.
Motor Vehicle Accident Care
Motor vehicle accidents can have devastating effects on the body. It is not uncommon to see everything from whiplash and fractures to muscle strains and tearing. Physical therapy is important in helping those who have been injured in motor vehicle accidents, as it helps to reduce stiffness and improve range of motion, while also aiding in overall recovery.
Orthopedic Musculoskeletal & Joint Problems
Sholders, elbows, hips and knees may sustain damaged bones, muscles, tendons and ligaments. Repetitive-stree injuries are common, too. No matter what type of injury you have we have the training and skill to help you get back to sports and everyday activities sooner and safer than you might think.
Vestibular and Balance Disorders
We offer specialized vestibular rehabilitation and balance training programs with an innovative blend of physical therapy treatments. It allows patients to take greater control of their lives in a safe, inviting, carefully monitored professional environment.
